The
Lodge has an associated Royal Arch Chapter,
Hiraeth Chapter No. 8834
'Hiraeth' is one of the loveliest of all the Welsh words.
It has several interpretations, but they all virtually mean the same thing
'longing', 'nostalgia', and ‘homesickness’. All means a sense of
'belonging to your homeland'.
The Lodge was consecrated on 9 June 1978, by the Provincial
Grand Master, assisted by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master. The first Master
was W Bro T.D. Evans.
W Bro T.D. Evans, a founder of the Lodge, had been the
Master of a very ancient Cornish Lodge, Phoenix Lodge of Honour and Prudence
No. 331, and he introduced several interesting additions into the ceremony, as
do so many other Lodges, which serve to enhance the proceedings when
performed.
The Founders, when selecting a suitable Lodge name,
appreciated the feelings that several of them had experienced when they were
away from home, and the Lodge name was chosen accordingly.
