Following the four explosions caused by
bombs in London on Thursday 7th July 2005, the Mayor of London has
established the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund, in association
with the British Red Cross to raise money for the victims and their
families. The British Red Cross has donated £50,000 to the Fund.
The money will be held in a trust and
will be distributed by trustees who will be appointed by the Greater
London Authority. It will be used to relieve disability or physical and
mental sickness caused by the attacks and to help with financial needs.
The money may also be used to support other appropriate projects as
funds allow.
The Grand Charity
cheque was signed and sent to the Fund on 13th July and received by
the Fund on Friday 15th July.
