Indian Ocean Tsunami News

An earthquake off Malaysia on 26 December 2004 caused a tsunami which wrought destruction on a huge scale. Over a quarter of a million lives were lost around the Indian Ocean.

Freemasonry's response was characteristically swift and generous. Some articles describing our efforts can be found below:

 UPDATE  As at 13 January 2006, the Freemasons' Grand Charity's special Tsunami Relief Chest had received a total of £832,528.38 - entirely from the pockets of Freemasons. The total includes a generous donation of $48,500 from The Masonic Service Association of North America.
