Corinthian Lodge shares out
£3,600 to six charities

by Roy Woodward, Lodge Information Officer

At the October meeting of the Corinthian Lodge No. 4917, Swansea, the Brethren agreed unanimously to make substantial donations to Masonic and non-Masonic charities. The list of six recipients received a total of £3,600 from the Lodge Charity Fund and the following recipients will soon receive cheques for:

  • £2,000 to the Lodge Relief Chest for the 2010 Festival (in aid of The Grand Charity)

  • £500 to the Masonic Benevolent Fund (Eastern Division of South Wales)

  • £300 to the Friends of the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court at Porthcawl

  • £300 to the Alzheimer's Society, Swansea and Lliw Valley

  • £300 to the Wales Air Ambulance Service

  • £200 to the British Legion Poppy Appeal Fund

The Lodge Treasurer proposed that these donations be made and the Brethren were delighted to confirm the proposal. Such generosity by the Lodge members shows once again that our fraternity is constantly aware of the need to support those less fortunate than ourselves.
