The Chapter was consecrated on Tuesday 29th May 1979 by Ex. Comp. the Rt. Hon. The Lord Swansea, M E Grand Superintendent with Ex. Comp. the Rev Canon T K Brunsdon, Second Provincial Grand Principal, acting as ‘H’ and Ex. Comp. W E M Benson, Third Provincial Grand Principal, acting as ‘J’. Ex. Comp. Llewellyn G Bevan, Deputy Grand Superintendent, acted as the Installing First Principal. The ME Grand Superintendent was supported by Ex. Comp. L H S Jeans, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, assisted by Ex. Comp. P C A Griffin, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.

The formation of a Royal Arch Chapter to accompany Juventus Lodge No 8105 was instigated by Ex. Comp. W H Walsh, PPrGSN, PGStB, who later became Third Provincial Grand Principal, and at its inception there were sixteen founder members, all of whom at that time had, or had had, connections with youth organisations, mainly with the Scout Association. Ex. Comp. W H Walsh was the First ‘Z’, Ex. Comp. J I Brown was the first ‘H’ and Ex. Comp S Bradley. was the first ‘J’. Sadly Ex. Comp. S. Bradley died while still in the Chair of the Third Principal.

In September 1980 Ex. Comp. M Miller, the Founder Organist, put together a Musical Procedure, which was agreed by the members of the Chapter and which is still in the possession of the Chapter.

The Chapter has progressed and grown since its early days twenty years ago and has now more that double its membership although there are only four of the founders still members, but the Chapter has never forgotten the strong belief in the motto of its founding Lodge -

”Visions not Dreams"

- and will always be looking to the future.
